Happy New Year!

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! Welcome back to Emerson! I hope everyone had a refreshing break and is as excited as I am to start a whole new year!
I just wanted to write a quick note to introduce myself and update you all on the January goings on.
As you probably know, my name is Stephiné Sammis and I have over 10 years of childcare experience in a variety of settings. My passion is working with special needs children and I am currently working on my Bachelors in Special Education. I also love camping and have five rescue dogs. Please feel free to introduce yourselves and let me know if there are any immediate concerns you have for your child.
In the upcoming weeks we will be wrapping up our “Arctic Animals” theme and moving onto an “All About Me” theme. I think this will be a nice way for the kids and I to get to know each other! I would like for you to help your child pick out some pictures of you with them and any immediate family that they can share with the class. Don’t forget siblings and pets! I would like to have these in for us to begin using the second week in January.
FYI, the parent-teacher conference sign-up sheet is now up. Please take a moment to look it over and sign up for a time that works for you. If you want to come, but need to come at a time other than what is listed, such as lunchtime, please just let me know. I am flexible and looking forward to this opportunity!

Also, Emerson will be having its monthly “Parents’ Night Out” again on January 16th from 6-10pm. So if you need a quiet night out after all that holiday hustle and bustle, please sign up in the front hallway. And remember, the money raised does go to the Emerson Foundation, so it’s all for a good cause!
I am excited to be the new Lead Teacher in the Turtles, and I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you and your children! If there’s anything you ever need from me please feel free to ask. I am dedicated to making the most of our time together!

Sincerely,

Ms. Stephiné
