Dear Parents,
Now that Anna and I have somewhat settled into the classroom, we just wanted to give you an update on some of our new classroom procedures.
• The Folders- We plan on getting all of the children their own folder which they will keep at school inside the door under the “Cubbies” sign. We will continue to use the calendar to chart the students’ behavior with a green, yellow or orange smiley faces. We will try our best to do this every day, but until we get into a groove, we may only be doing it on Friday.
• Show-n-Tell- We both feel that Show-n-Tell is an important opportunity for the kids to share a unique aspect of their lives with their friends, not to mention that they all keep requesting it! We will have Show-n-Tell on Wednesdays, but we won’t be allowing any superheroes or fighting toys. Ideas for Show-n-Tell include pictures, souvenirs or stories from a trip, stuffed animals, dreams or funny stories, or anything that doesn’t promote fighting.
• Assessments- We will continue to work on a thorough assessment for each student. This is a lengthy process which will take some time. We will send them home in the folder when they are ready, so be on the lookout for them!
Again, thanks for your patience as we get acclimated to the new classroom! Please, don’t hesitate to talk with us if you have any concerns or questions about your child.
Sincerely,
Ms. Stephiné and Ms. Anna
